St. Francis of Assisi Parish - 60 Plus Years of Ministry to Our Community

FEAST OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI AND 60TH plus ANNIVERSARY OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI PARISH COMMUNITY

On Sunday October 3, 2021, Bishop Douglas Crosby led our Eucharist Celebration for the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and our 61st Anniversary as a Parish Church.  The Celebration could not take place last year due to Covid.

I am always inspired when people tell me that they have been at St. Francis for 30, 40, 50 and 60 years.  Needless to say, that is a lot of faith, love, peace, hope, caring, kindness, mercy, reconciliation and forgiveness that have been lived over the years.

After mass Bishop Crosby blessed the Statue of St. Francis created by Timothy Schmalz who was present with us, which many people appreciated.

Nine Resurrectionist Priests with former involvement here at St. Francis were present with us.  In the spirit of St. Francis (and due to Covid regulations) the post celebrations were humble and simple.  All who attended were welcome to a cup cake and a souvenir pen.  The day was rich with memories of the past and hope for the future.

Our Parish Ministry Statement says; “WE ARE A CHRIST CENTERED FAITH COMMUNITY SEEKING TO BE AN INSTRUMENT OF PEACE. “Needless to say, we have a lofty ideal before us to be lived and celebrated; without question the challenge before us will be an awesome task! All are welcome to join us for Eucharist at any time.
