New Beginnings January Events

January 7, 2016

Fr. Fred Scinto, C.R.

My Brothers and Sisters In the Lord Who Has Come,

Greetings to you in the Lord and may God grant you a 2016 filled with shalom, joy, grace, and conversion!

Please allow me to bring to your attention the following e-mail from the New Beginnings Team of the Archdiocese of Toronto.  The three listed events are quite suitable for those that are in bereavement over the loss of a loved one or some other great loss and for those who are journeying through the traumatic experience of separation and/or divorce.  Anyone else interested in the events is also more than welcome too!

If you are responsible for a Catholic/Christian Community like a parish or are privileged to be on any kind of a pastoral team serving your brothers/sisters in the Lord, please make this information known to them, especially now that we are in the Jubilee Year of Mercy.  Thank you and God bless you always.  Amen.

In the Risen One,

Father Fred Scinto, C.R. and

The Consortium (Congregation of the Resurrection Ontario-Kentucky Province and American Province and Roman Motherhouse, the Archdiocese of Toronto, and the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, and may individual co-workers in the Lord)

Here is an update on New Beginnings January events.  There is no cost and all are welcome.

Mass of Comfort and Light
The New Beginnings Ministry of St. Padre Pio Church invite you to attend an evening Mass of Comfort and Light on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Padre Pio Church, 5500 Major Mackenzie Dr., Kleinburg. The time immediately after the Christmas and New Year season can be very difficult for those among us who have experienced loss.  Our invitation is to gather into the warmth and Light of Christ, finding support and courage in Him, the One who loves us. The Mass of Comfort and Light is a celebration of Faith, Hope and Love.

“The Canticle of Creatures through the Artist’s Eyes”
A Winter Retreat sponsored by New Beginnings will be led by Br. Ignatius Feaver, OFM (cap) on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. Clare's Parish Hall. Creation flows from the goodness of God, the Author and Great Artist of life.  Come… immerse yourself in the Great Artist himself.  A light lunch will be provided. (The Hall is at 1118 St. Clair Avenue West, one block east of Dufferin.)

“An Evening of Taize Prayer, Song and Reflection”
On Monday, January 18, 2016 @ 6:30 p.m.  at the Catholic Pastoral Centre - 1155 Yonge St. Toronto  4thFloor, we will gather in God’s presence for Taizé Prayer singing (chanting), listening to scripture readings and meditations with periods of silence. To this gathering, we bring our intentions, needs and in particular our experiences of loss.
